Ex-Man Utd captain Rio Ferdinand has called on Danny Welbeck to “ignore” Chelsea and return to the Red Devils.
The Blues are said to be confident of signing the 35-year-old from Brighton.
However, posting on his X account, Ferdinand said Welbeck should move back to his former club where he could play in Europe this season:
“Welbs…. Ignore + come back home! Champions League football next season in Manchester.”

The striker came through the ranks of the Red Devils, having joined the club’s academy all the way back in 2001.
Welbeck made his senior debut when Sir Alex Ferguson was still the manager back in 2008, when he featured against Middlesbrough in the third round of the League Cup.
He went on to make 142 appearances in total for United before he was sold to Arsenal for £16m in September 2014.
Injuries have curtailed Welbeck’s career to some extent, but he had a new lease of life when he joined Brighton back in 2020. He has spent the last six years on the South Coast, having just had his most prolific season in front of goal of his whole career.
Last campaign, the forward found the back of the net 14 times in all competitions for the Seagulls.

Man Utd may soon need another striker
There are serious doubts over the future of Joshua Zirkzee, with Juventus and other Italian clubs said to be circling the Dutchman.
If he is sold before the transfer window closes, manager Michael Carrick would require a backup option for Benjamin Sesko.
United could do a lot worse than having someone as experienced as Welbeck in the first-team squad.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
